PhD / Postdoctoral Position in In Vivo Cancer Therapeutics (m/f/d)
The position is based at Campus Großhadern, full time, starting 01.10.2026.
Scope of duties
We are recruiting a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher with a veterinary medicine or biology background for a fully funded basic/translational cancer research position at LMU University Hospital Munich.
The position focuses on in‑vivo tumor models to develop multimodal therapies combining thermosensitive liposomal drug delivery, regional hyperthermia, and immunotherapy/targeted approaches (CAR‑T cells, small molecules).
The goal is to improve intratumoral drug delivery and overcome resistance in "immunologically cold" tumors (sarcoma, pancreatic cancer). The project is embedded in a highly motivated environment with direct links to clinical trials and biotech collaborations.
Your role
• Design and conduct in‑vivo tumor studies
• Establish and manage tumor models
• Apply therapies and regional hyperthermia
• Analyze tumor biology and immune responses in collaboration with partners
Requirements
• Veterinary medicine or biology background
• Experience with cell culture and animal models (preferred)
• Strong interest in basic and translational cancer research
• Independent working style and fluency in English
Offer
• Work in a highly motivated research environment with clinical relevance
• Unique platform combining nanomedicine and hyperthermia
• Close collaboration with academic and biotech partners
• Excellent career development opportunities at one of the world’s leading university hospitals
• Remuneration based on the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector of the Länder (TV‑L) including all allowances customary in the public sector
Disabled persons will be preferentially considered in case of equal qualification.
